MANILA, Philippines — Renowned Japanese minimalist brand Miratap made its Philippine debut through Dexterton’s new showroom in a San Juan mall, introducing Filipino homeowners and design professionals to a fresh inspiration of contemporary living where functionality meets timeless craftsmanship.

The partnership opened the doors to Miratap’s first flagship showroom in the Philippines, placing the country on the map of the brand’s global operations alongside China, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the USA and Vietnam.

The 300-sqm. showroom offers an immersive area where visitors can discover Japanese minimalism firsthand through a cohesive experience that brings the brand’s signature design philosophy to life.

Within the thoughtfully designed layout — a Dexterton trademark — kitchen systems, vanities, washbasins, bathroom fixtures, doors, partitions, and other interior and exterior elements are arranged to reflect Miratap’s vision of intentional spaces where elegant simplicity, modernity, and everyday living coexist seamlessly.

Boasting a legacy dating back to 1979, the brand emerged from the rebranding of Sanwa Company in October last year.

The name combines “mirai,” the Japanese word for “future,” and “tap,” reflecting the brand’s forward-looking approach and dedication to minimalist and future-ready design.

According to the brand’s resident Taro Yamane, its partnership with Dexterton aligns with its vision of inspiring global markets with design solutions anchored on the purity of Japanese minimalism while embracing purposeful innovation.

“Dexterton shares our passion for creating environments that harmonize form and function,” said Yamane. “Through this partnership, we’re bringing to a wider audience our design philosophy of Japanese minimalism that evolves with the times yet stays true to its origins.”

Dexterton chief executive officer Audrey Go-Liu, meanwhile, highlighted the growing appreciation for Japanese design culture in the Philippines.

“We’ve seen a rising demand for sleek, functional, and minimastic living solutions and we’re honored to work with Miratap to bridge world-class Japanese design and precision to Filipino homes,” Go-Liu said.

She added that the collaboration with Miratap reflects Dexterton’s strategy to strengthen its portfolio through exclusive tie-ups with leading international design brands, as showcased in its Bonifacio Global City and Quezon City showrooms.
